Owning an aircon

The following are some methods to upkeep your Air Conditioning system for optimal performance and efficiency.

For Optimum Performance

Close all windows and doors
Draw the curtains / blinds
Set the temperature to be between 23°C - 25 °C which is the human comfort range
It takes an average of 1 – 2 hours to cool a room
Do not block air inlets and outlets of the indoor unit and outdoor unit

Shun Aircon Services provides most aircon servicing works for both residential and commercial premises. Aircon servicing can be breakdown into 4 different categories:

♥ Checking, Troubleshooting & Repair Service for Aircon

1) General Aircon Servicing

The aircon servicing includes cleaning of the indoor fancoil and outdoor condenser, clearing of the drainage piping (to prevent leaking) and checking for your air conditioning system.

Scope of Work:

• Clean & check air filter, front panel & cover

• Check deodorising and purifying filter

• Clean & check indoor evaporator coil

• Clean & check indoor drainage tray (Wall mount fancoil)

• Vacuuming of drainage pan (Ceiling mount fancoil)

• Vacuuming of drainage system

• Brush & check outdoor condenser coil

• Check fan bearing and lubricate (if necessary)

• Check compressor suction and discharge pressure

• Tightening of electrical contacts

*Above scope not applicable for ducted fancoil

2) Yearly Contract Air Conditioner Servicing Maintenance

The contract package comprises of either 3 aircon servicings per year (for Tri-yearly Contract) or 4 air con servicings per year (for Quarterly Contract) at regular intervals.

The aircon servicing includes cleaning of the indoor fancoil and outdoor condenser, clearing of the drainage piping (to prevent water leaking problems) and general checking of your air conditioning system.

Scope of Work:

• Clean & check air filter, front panel & cover

• Check deodorising and purifying filter

• Clean & check indoor evaporator coil

• Clean & check indoor drainage tray (Wall mount fancoil)

• Vacuuming of drainage pan (Ceiling mount fancoil)

• Vacuuming of drainage system

• Brush & check outdoor condenser coil

• Check fan bearing and lubricate (if necessary)

• Check compressor suction and discharge pressure

• Tightening of electrical contacts

*Above scope not applicable for ducted fancoil.

Benefits:

• Water leaking rectification (by vacuuming) during contract period

• Waiver of transportation charges throughout the contract period

• Periodic topping up of feon (R22) gas (limited to 5 pressure point per system per trip)

• Prevention of system breakdown

• Cleaner & healthier air

• Improve efficiency

3) Aircon Chemical Wash

Aircon chemical wash involves a very thorough overhaul of the air conditioning unit. This service is needed when a general cleaning of the aircon unit does not improve the condition.

Scope of Work:

• Dismantle of fancoil unit

• Dismantle of electronic control and drainage device

• Chemical clean / wash of fancoil unit and all parts

• Vacuuming of drainage system

• Charging in of refrigerant (R-22) gas (limited to 10 pressure point per system) (Not applicable for R410 refrigerant)

• Check control and thermostats

• Test and commission system

Benefits:

• Clear water leak problem

• Increase cooling with saving on electrical consumption

• Saving on total maintenance cost

• Prolong the life span of equipment

4) Aircon Checking & Troubleshooting Service

This aircon repair service provides advice to customers on the cost of repair for air conditioner breakdowns. It also helps to evaluate the condition of the equipment and advise on the most economical solution.

Scope of Work:

• Troubleshooting of faults in air conditioning system

• Prepare service report on fault(s) found and recommended repair action(s)

• Prepare appropriate quotation on repair parts required

• Explain and educate customer on finding and recommendation

5) Repair Service for Air Conditioner Circuit Board (PCB)

The repair work involve testing and replacing of faulty on-board electronics components. All circuit board (PCB) test and repair work are carry out in our in-house workshop. Click on this link to find out more on repair of circuit board on our FAQ page.

Scope of Work:

• Dismantle of circuit board on-site

• Send to workshop for investigation

• Advice customer on final repair costing upon investigation

• Carry out repair work upon confirmation

• In-house testing of circuit board for 2-4 days upon repair

• Install back circuit board and test operation

Payment must be made upon completion of work by cash or local cheque.
